Well, another busy week. This week saw the new year for the North Lambton Quilters Guild, with lots of new projects in the coming year for the programme. Luckily, I don't have to decide what to do! I am going to be teaching next month though. It is a teaching guild and there are always new things to learn, I am going to be doing a very short programme on Creativity, how to kick those brain cells out of the box! It should be fun and I am looking forward to it very much.
Thursday saw the start of the Embroiderers guild year, another great place to be with lots of su[[ort with my City and Guilds.
Speaking of which, I actually did manage to sit down and do some Hand quilting on it the other day, I am very pleased with the look of the piece, and am excited about being able to move forward with it. Hopefully will have some time this week to do some more, I am going away this coming weekend to a friends cottage for a mini retreat, there will be 7 of us in total, so should be a fun time!

At last! I have been having treatment on my elbow for tendonitis and, finally, the pain is going away and I am almost able to get back to quilting full time. I have spent this week doing a bit of catching up and thoroughly enjoying myself! The hand quilting of my final assessment piece is going well and I will be doing more in the weeks to come.
Quilt Guild starts on Wednesday after summer recess and there is an exciting programme to look forward to, and, a mini retreat at a friend's cottage in October, which is a chance to stitch and relax with a bunch of friends, I have a couple of projects to take with me which I am really looking forward to getting finished.

I am doing the City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting Course online. It has been put together by Linda and Laura Kemshall, it has been a very enjoyable experience and the support has been wonderful. I started the course in 2008 and am in the process of finishing my Final Assessment piece, It has been slowed down slightly by a bout of Tendonitis, but, as that has almost cleared up, I am now in the process of trying to finish it.
This is a throw for a Sofa, but will probably be hanging on a wall when I have finished as it is quite delicate. I had decided to use Silk to put this piece together, that has also been an experience! I had no idea how difficult it would be, but I am pleased that I have stuck with it and the end result will be lovely. I have used Shiva Paintstiks to paint the centre panel and am Hand Quilting it, something I have not done a lot of and is proving challenging!
